About

CompConstruct is an educational initiative that developed a hands-on curriculum to teach middle and high school students the principles of computer science and engineering. Through this program, students have successfully built their own fully functioning computers, gaining both technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. By holding in-person classes in Title I low-income public schools and providing opportunities for a wide range of students to interact with STEM, CompConstruct has increased its impact in collaboration with Global Kids.

Founder - Keith Taylor Jr.

Keith Taylor, a 12th grader at Dwight-Englewood School, is passionate about design, technology, and community leadership. He founded CompConstruct to give middle and high school students the opportunity to build computers from the ground up, making STEM education more engaging and accessible. Keith is actively involved in both leadership and academics at Dwight-Englewood, combining his studies with his dedication to using technology to empower others.

Outside of the classroom, Keith holds positions that enable him to combine technical know-how with business strategy and community impact, such as Director of IT at Marjorie E. Durden CPA, Co-Chief Executive Officer at Metro Merch, and Technology Chair for Jack and Jill. His entrepreneurial mindset was further sharpened through the Columbia Pre-College Business Program, where he studied entrepreneurship, strategy, and leadership.
